Pencil it in! Lunch Sketch

Art projects you can do after work

Welcome to Pencil it in! Each project is super easy to do, even if you’re tired after work. The point of this series is to play with art for a few minutes a day, even if you’re tired or annoyed.

This project might make you hungry. If you draw any of these weekly projects, please leave a comment and your photos, I want to see it!

Lunch Sketch

Time: 15 minutes (during or after lunch)

Supplies: Paper, pen or pencil, and markers.

Instructions:

  1. During or after lunch, set a timer for 10 minutes and quickly sketch what you ate or are eating. Focus on the basic shapes and don’t worry about perfection.

  2. Add a palette of 2-3 colors to your sketch and outline with black ink.

  3. Use your pen to note what you ate, where you were, how it tasted, or how you felt.

This playful exercise helps you stay in the moment and create a visual journal. It’s about noticing and recording instead of being about perfection.
