Education

The Milky Way: For family photography. I love their newsletters and videos. They also specialize in newborn photography. These things are not my specialty, but I just love their style. Lisa has created some really fantastic resources, including their beautiful newsletter.

Sue Bryce Education: Such a great investment at $35/month and even cheaper when you sign up for a year. Sue talks about confidence, marketing, pricing, selling, networking, flatter poses, your first studio, lighting, and more. If you’re feeling you need more confidence, you need some Sue Bryce.

Two Loves Studio: Rachel is a great teacher. There is so much value in her videos, her blog, her free classes and her very valuable, yet affordable ebook and paid classes! I learned Lightroom from her (even before I photographed food)! She’s also someone I have reached out to before to explain my goals, and she was kind enough to write back! Her blog introduced me to so many photographers that I’ve become a fan of and it always full of great content.

Demos Education: What can you say about Amy and Jordan? Again, these are photographers I’ve reached out to with tricky questions. Frankly, I didn’t think I would get a reply because not everyone takes the time to do that, but they’re always on top of replying to all of their fans. They are former teachers who are now successful wedding photographers and educators. I’m not a wedding photographer, but I’ve really enjoyed their videos on managing natural light and flattering poses. They also blog about starting your own business and give great advice about serving your clients. Plus they’re ridiculously smiley and adorable.

The Goal Digger Podcast: I kept seeing Jenna’s ads and not going to the website for some reason. I eventually heard her speak as a guest on an online photography conference and realized she’s brilliant, very brilliant! I’ve since become a big fan of her podcast: The Goal Digger. It’s very interesting to hear from the creative women she interviews. She has really fantastic resources that help you define your brand. She specializes in online marketing and creating authentic brands.

Pretty Presets: They’re actually great for presets! In addition to this, they have fantastic resources they have created and shared. 

Skillshare: An affordable place to start learning Lightroom and other photography basics.
